Red Wagon Design (RWD) was officially founded in 2009, but the story starts much earlier. My first “clients” were the inhabitants of a childhood dollhouse my dad built—complete with carpet remnants, furniture, and yes, even wallpaper.
My real “a-ha” moment came in the late 1990s while working as a Creative Director for a retail and fashion management consulting firm. What began as a role rooted in branding and marketing evolved into leading the redesign and build-out of our Manhattan headquarters. That experience made it clear: this was what I wanted to do—one space at a time.
RWD is the natural intersection of my personal and professional worlds—part aesthetic obsessive, part detail-driven project manager. It took shape at a moment when I was applying the same level of organization and intention from my work life into my home life. While I may not have a traditional design degree, what I bring instead is instinct, experience, and a genuine love for the process.
The business grew organically—first through friends and family, then through referrals—expanding from single-room refreshes to full-scale renovations. What began in my home office quickly outgrew it.
Today, RWD is a full-service design studio and a true creative collaborative. We partner closely with our clients to design homes that feel personal, functional, and thoughtfully considered—whether that’s a new window treatment, a kitchen remodel, or a full gut renovation.
Our approach is grounded in making the process feel comfortable and approachable, never intimidating. We may nudge you slightly outside your comfort zone, but your vision always leads.
At the end of the day, it’s your home. Our role is to help you discover your style—and bring it to life in a way that feels effortless, elevated, and entirely your own.

Once the direction is set, we build a thoughtful sourcing plan to bring it to life—creating spaces that feel elevated, personal, and well-balanced, without requiring an unlimited budget.
Our process is highly collaborative. We work closely with you and our trusted network of vendors and trades, guiding decisions, offering perspective, and occasionally nudging you just outside your comfort zone—never away from what you love.
Behind the scenes, we manage all the details—planning, coordination, and problem-solving—so the process feels seamless and the end result feels effortless.
In the end, it’s about creating a space that works beautifully, reflects who you are, and feels like home the moment you walk in.
